COVID-19 Vaccine Update https://qfpde.com/covid-19-vaccine-update/ Fri, 09 Apr 2021 01:50:53 +0000 https://qfpde.com/?p=853

COVID Vaccine Update - April 9, 2021

At this time QFP is following the state guidelines of vaccinating patients 16-64 years of age with high or moderate-risk underlying health conditions.

We are keeping a list of patients that are interested in getting the vaccine and will call to schedule as doses become available. We currently have the Pfizer vaccine and will keep you updated if we consider getting Moderna or Johnson and Johnson. As a private practice, QFP must request vaccine supplies weekly; therefore, we cannot schedule appointments until the shipment has been delivered.

Patients that have received the first COVID vaccine and are still waiting to get the second vaccine can call the office to be added to the list. We will call you as we get doses for the second vaccine.

We also recommend taking a picture of your COVID-19 vaccination record card and sending it to us via the portal. For instructions on how to attach a picture on your portal please see the box below for instructions on how to do this.

Please call 302-235-2351 if you are interested in getting the vaccine and we will add you to the list. Please be patient with our staff as we try and get all our patients vaccinated in order of the state guidelines.

Please visit the following websites for more information and continue to monitor our website for updates.

  1. Log in to the portal, using your email and password
  2. On the home page, under messages, select provider (you may select any provider)

Dr. Eun Kim's Departure

Dr. Eun Kim’s Departure

Effective as of Friday, March 5th 2021, Dr. Kim is leaving Quality Family Physicians.  During these difficult and unprecedented times, Dr. Kim is leaving the practice to be with her family.  In addition, she will be pursing the opportunity to further her training in integrative and holistic medicine.

Although privately-owned primary care practices in Delaware have been operating under extremely challenging circumstances in the past several years, I have made the decision to keep Quality Family Physicians open.  Part of this challenge is the shortage of primary care physicians.  Within that context, I do not expect to bring on a new physician in the short term.

We will continue to provide our locally and nationally recognized excellence in care for our patients using our team based approach.  I will personally lead the team of physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants and medical receptionists in providing your care.  We will maintain and expand the use of the latest care technologies such as telehealth appointments, e-visits and our secure, and our HIPAA compliant patient portal.

Thank you for your support during this transition as we look to continue to provide the highest level of care to you and your family.

Kathleen Willey, MD

Goodbye Letter from Dr. Kim https://qfpde.com/goodbye-letter-from-dr-kim/ Wed, 17 Feb 2021 15:25:22 +0000 https://qfpde.com/?p=794

Goodbye Letter from Dr. Kim

To my patients,

I write to inform you that, after much thought, I have decided to leave Quality Family Physicians.  This was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, and rest assured it does not reflect on you, as your continued care has consistently been the highlight of this career.  Rather, with the ever-changing healthcare needs in light of the pandemic specifically, and the changing face of primary care practice overall, I simply do not have the time to provide the type of service I am accustomed to, while also having time to focus on my family, my two daughters and my husband.  In addition we have begun dealing with a difficult medical diagnosis in my extended family, which I know would only exacerbate an already impossible situation.

I want to reiterate that this is not a reflection of my feelings for you, my patients, or for Dr. Willey and the rest of the staff here at Quality Family Physicians.  I want to take this opportunity to thank Dr Willey and the family at QFP that have supported me for more than twelve years.  I could not have asked for a better place to begin my medical career, and can think of no physician whose medical judgment I trust more than that of Dr. Willey.  The passion, the commitment and the level of patient care have been exceptional and I will take all those qualities that I have learned with me to my next journey.

In the meantime, I will miss everyone and the relationship that I have built with you, my patients.

Please take care of yourself,

Eun Kim, MD
